Day 30, the Final Countdown, Semester 1 Attachment Finale
Today is the last day of attachment. I don’t know what kind of feeling I should feel. Happy? Satisfied? Can’t bear? Or confused?
I think I will choose “confuse”. Seriously though, I thought last day of attachment will have some kind of special event or what. As in, maybe the MD will find you and do a follow-up on what you have learnt during this 30 days all this. But it seem there isn’t any much worth memories I left for them during this 30 days. Except for myself though, a whole new experience.
And the big morning I had become “moon cake fairy” by distributing all the moon cakes to people I am close =x
I heard that this is the 2nd time Haraco accepting attachment students for training. Last time the 2 University students who are being attached to Haraco are under Sujith, the safety department. Thus they will become safety coordinators during the 60 days. Well this time round they putting 1 (same as last time, 2 students attached to Haraco) under safety department, and another 1 to QS (Quantity Surveyor). I am the 1 who are being attached to the calculation department which is the QS. I don’t know are they using me to have a test out to see if a trainee can cope with all the works under QS or not. For me, I honesty speaking, QS is not as simple as what a normal people think. The calculation…the design…the journey to get the dimension is as complicated as what a qualified Engineer does. Haha and yes, I do get the name of “engineer” when walking around the shipyard (its all thanks to Kanak who keep on ‘megaphone’ and introduce to other workers that I am an engineer -.-). Hmmm is not easy at first though, I can say, for the first 2 weeks I have difficulty learning all types of calculation. And yes, it really took my pain in the ass to master all techniques of calculation.
Oh ya, some lose items need to be check when cycle around 2.5KM from office to the site. And aye, you need to CYCLE there and collect the dimension and design. And after you collected, you need to CYCLE back to office and CYCLE back to the site to return the photocopied version. *Sigh* is really a tiring want for me, sure a good exercise though.
Leaving a good impression to all of the stuffs and workers are my basic intention. But days goes by, I find that I will rather faster leave the place ASAP. Why? Not that I had done some trouble things to them but, is like I felt that I am quite useless there also. Nothing much help I can done to reduce their workload. And also I find myself don’t really leave a good impression there…Doesn’t matter. Like what Kar said, they may not be caring about you. So what for go do all the unnecessary things to gain their good impression???
What else do I have memories during these 30 days? Can say I know quite a lot people there. Even people I don’t know there also know me.
And ya, I screw up another thing when taking photos -.-
The fucking idiot camera fault again la, I no time go repair mah. Then thought can gamble the mechanical problem for 1 day. But sigh…the mechanical problem is back. This time round I gonna kill into Toh Guan Road Samsung repair service to get the damn shitty camera fixed.

Talk about salary, I not sure am I the highest want among all attachment students. The totally salary I got is $648.50. Which I calculated 1 month around $518. I heard some of them are $400, some $420, Keppel-$440 include Saturday. But whatever is the moral of the story, what we learn are the most important and not the amount of the salary.
Oh yeah, now I face another problem after the attachment. What shall I be putting in into my projects? Guang Zhong said maybe we don’t have to do is because this is only half the semester of the attachment only. There is another 30 more days which most probably won’t be attach to the same company and same people. And he guess that maybe only after the whole 2 semester attachment finish then only need to do the projects. Well I am not sure if he guess was correct but, having brainstorm now to think what detail should be place in the project is the main factor isn’t it? Think back lately, is really the problem learning all calculation with no theory base to be put in words into power point and present them to all boring lecturers in the lecture theater.
Well time is really flies, it just like the moment I step into Sembawang shipyard yesterday and now, it’s the 30th day. From the start a lot of eyes looking at you along the way to the office and now, is getting used to it. Can also say, the eyesight pointing at you is reducing each day you get familiarize with the people and the environment. Aiya but also, if you don’t look at them, how you know they looking at you? Also own self KPO go see them that’s why notice they looking at you -.-
During these 30 days I had only been on board once. The one and only time to explore tanker. Therefore the torch light and the worker permit tag I also used once nia =x
Before leaving, i took a stroll around the office again lol. And ya, some of them getting my number whereby i dun have theirs -.- Whatever, incoming free =x
Guess i shooked quite a lot of workers hand there also. Cant rmb, even security lol.
Look like is getting more loh soh here again, alright hands off keyboard here.
